Thomas Allen Moon is the author of the book The AmeriShare Tax: A Plan to Save the American Dream, scheduled for release in early 2014 from EarthPeople Media.

Allen has had an extensive career in municipal bond law and public finance, giving him considerable insight into the complexities and vagaries of the tax code, a subject that very few understand. After graduating from The University of Texas Law School in 1971 and earning an M.A. in Government from TCU in 1972, Allen began working with the tax code as an I.R.S. attorney in Philadelphia. In 1974, he worked as chief enforcement attorney in the Fort Worth Regional Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and was later promoted to assistant regional administrator in the SEC Houston Branch Office. In 1980, Allen moved to Dallas into private law practice as a partner with Hutchison, Price, Boyle & Brooks law firm. He later transitioned to Thompson & Knight and Jenkens & Gilchrist law firms before launching his solo practice in 1996.

Today, Allen is semi-retired with occasional involvement in major securities transactions. During his down time, Allen enjoys indulging in political talk shows and reading history while relaxing in his “Zen” garden. He also enjoys sharing his insider knowledge of public finance and the tax system in order to give citizens access to information that will determine their livelihoods and financial well-being.
